Virtual Short Tour at Keraton Yogyakarta
Wednesday April 14th 2021Have you ever visited Kraton Yogyakarta?
Have you ever heard of the history of Kraton Yogyakarta?
When a field trip is out of the question, we can still join the education world as we visit historical places around us. An alternative to real-life field trips is online virtual tours that can be taken through zoom application. Clearly, nothing replaces the actual experience of a real tour, yet experiencing a high-quality online tour to Kraton yields its own rewards.
One of grade 4’s most fun activities during the pandemic is visiting Kraton Yogyakarta last April 2021 virtually. The Kraton’s abdi dalem named Bapak Sumarno and public relation officer named Bapak KRT Jatiningrat guided our tour. They explained the history of Kraton Yogyakarta based on the students’ questions.
This virtual field trip allows the students to engage with the real situation in Kraton Yogyakarta. Mr KRT Jatiningrat explained clearly about the history of Kraton. They also invited them to ‘go’ around Kraton Yogyakarta and see the old buildings in the complex. All of the students can capture the sculptures, buildings, ornamentals, furniture and many other forms of art and old objects they are curious about in this virtual trip.
