To support our learning, Al Azhar 55 Yogyakarta has programs to guide students’ improvements based on students level, such as:
1. Teachers’ TKT Program
All teachers in Al Azhar 55 present their best and set the high standard to teach in their field.. Native teachers are legal based on Surat Ijin Mempekerjakan Tenaga Asing/Working Permit License. Local teachers are certified with TKT (Teacher Knowledge Test) and speak english actively in all school activities.
2. Hands-On Learning
When students are given the ability to learn in practical hands-on environment, they are very often engaged and stimulated. It is our hope to create a fun learning environment, stick the experiences of learning in their brain and at the same time better equipping students to face challenges that await them.
3. SLC (Student Led Conference)
At the end of term 1 and 3, students are asked to assess their own learning and understanding of the ideas and concepts taught throughout that term. This encourages students to be more responsible with their learning and help to shape child’s attitude, effort, success and public speaking level.
4. Reading Log
It is a journal where students can record their activity in reading. It is a great way to summarize what a student reads. Everyday, students are encouraged to borrow a book from library based on their reading level and bring it home to read with their parents. then, students will retell what the book is about to their homeroom teacher.
5. Global Perspective
Al Azhar 55 implements Global Perspective as a subject to learn. It is aimed to help students laying the foundations for lifelong learning i.e.; curiosity about the world and understanding their personal and local context, as well having a global awareness.
6. Numeracy Log
Numeracy is important for individuals to develop logical thinking and reasoning strategies in their everyday activities. Numeracy log applies to treat student in solving their problems and making sense of numbers, time, pattern and shapes.
7. Life Skills Project
Every week, students will get life skills project that have to be done at home such as; making cup of tea for parents, washing the dishes and shoes, folding their clothes, watering plants etc. These all will help students develop a sense of self discipline, responsibility, and independent for their future life.
