Independence Day: A Celebration to Ignite the Nation
Thursday October 10th 2024To celebrate the independence day this year, Al Azhar 55 Islamic Primary School hosted a festival on August 17th, 2023. The festival featured a series of competitions in which all students participated. The celebration began with a formal ceremony, followed by a community walk. The red-white troops, representing our school, marched through the streets around the school’s neighborhood. Looking excited, our students joyfully waved at the passing people. The community walk concluded as we entered the main gate of our campus and returned to the ceremony ground.
At break time, the committee announced the upcoming activities for each grade. These activities included various competitions, each with a designated location. Led by competition leaders, students proceeded to the “arena” to participate in their respective games. The event concluded with the announcement of the winners and a photo session.
Al Azhar 55 themed this year’s celebration “Take a Leap and Move Forward”. The festival’s coordinator, Arinda Febriana Dewi-commonly called Ms. Riri, emphasized the importance for the young generation, including students, to take actions as they are the future of the nation. She encouraged them to boldly pursue their dreams and not hesitate to take even small steps towards their goals. She highlighted the significance of making progress, no matter how small it is, is more favorable than not taking any action at all. Additionally, the competitions aimed to foster teamwork, respect and leadership skills.
